As a college student, I am finding that having someone, besides myself, read my papers over is a gigantic help. When I was younger, and even up through high school, I figured that after I wrote a rough draft a certain way that I should keep it. I mean, I did do a few changes here and there to my papers, after receiving comments from my teachers, but I never took into consideration that I could always make my papers better.
Now that I am in college, and have many more resources to help me with my papers, I work harder on really changing my rough draft. A rough draft is just a way of getting everything on paper that is in my head. Just because I have all of my thoughts written down, doesn't mean that it is any good. My rough draft is just an overview and plan of how I want to write my paper. Although, if the structure of a paper I write is okay in my rough draft, I can always keep it and just fix my sentence structures and details.
Having someone else look over my papers, gives me an outside view of how well I've written my paper. That person can provide me with different view points and ideas. Even if the person that is looking over my paper likes what I've written so far, it can still encourage me to add on to what I've done to make it that much better. Why not use such an easy tool when the oppurtunity arises? It can't hurt me. It can only help.

I felt the exact same way after i went to the studio. I never got feedback in high school, but after getting it here, i realized how much it really helps. I was really at a loss on how to revise, but getting feedback made it more clear to me. But don't think that writing down all your thoughts isn't any good, because sometimes thats where your best information comes from.
