it's your life

It probably gets annoying, hearing about how important it is to keep our environment and our Earth clean huh? Well just take a moment to think about how keeping our planet clean is actually worthwhile. Just think of all the things that your mom nags you about and compare. I know, my mom is always telling me to clean my room, make my bed, do my laundry, do the dishes, and so on. Although it can get on my nerves, I just think about how it will help me in the long run. In comparison, every little thing that we, as human beings, can do four our planet will help in the long run.

How is it that there are so many little things we can do to help our environment, and most people don’t do them? What can possibly be more important than keeping one’s planet healthy? Although you cannot see the results immediately, just think about the future. What if our planet has a breakdown while we are still living? Although it seems improbable, just keep it in mind. Even if nothing were to happen to us in our lifetime, just think about our kids. Most people plan on having children. Our children may be affected by the fact that we don’t take care of our planet.

There are so many little things that you can do to keep the planet clean. It’s not like it’s a big deal to recycle. Keep a recycling bin in your house or in your garage and there you have it. Everyone knows to throw trash in the garbage can, so do the same thing with the recycling bin. Just get used to throwing your plastics and cardboard boxes in the recycling bin and it will become a habit. Another little trick to keeping the planet clean, is to actually throw trash away and not litter. A lot of people end up littering because they are driving in their car and don’t have a trash can handy. Just keep a garbage bag in your car, or even a plastic bag from Wal-Mart. Even if you don’t litter, go around a few days a week and pick up some trash along the streets. It will not take too much of your time and will significantly help the environment. Just think, if everyone were to pick up just a few pieces of trash every day, it would amount to a massive decrease in litter.

  1. Bethany,
I'm not sure why people can't make even MINOR efforts like recycling. I think part of it is laziness. The other part might be denial..."It's not MY problem."

    Very inspirational.
